Delhi Police has registered a case of rape and intimidation against Sonia Gandhi’s personal secretary PP Madhavan. Police said a 26-year-old woman has lodged a complaint alleging that Madhavan raped her on the pretext of a job and marriage. According to the police officer, the victim told that the accused raped her and threatened dire consequences if she complained about the matter. The victim had lodged a complaint with the Uttam Nagar police station on June 25. Dwarka DCP M Harsh Vardhan said that a case has been registered against Madhavan under IPC sections of rape and criminal intimidation. Police is probing the case against 71-year-old Madhavan. The DCP, however, did not name any political leader. The DCP told that the woman lives in Delhi only. Her husband, who died in 2020, worked in the Congress office.
According to the police officer, the victim told that the accused raped her and threatened dire consequences if she complained about the matter. On the complaint of the victim, a case of rape and death threats has been registered against Madhavan at Uttam Nagar police station.
District Deputy Commissioner of Police M Harsh Vardhan has said that a case has been registered on the complaint of the woman. The whole matter is being investigated. The victim has demanded police protection, citing threat to her life.
According to the complaint, the victim lives in Uttam Nagar area. The woman’s husband was a Congress worker, used to put up hoarding-banners. Because of this, she came in contact with the Congress party and started visiting the party’s office and programs.
After husband’s death went to Congress office to ask for work
Her husband died in 2020. Due to the death of her husband and corona, she also had to eat food. When she went to the party office for help, she was given the mobile number of Sonia Gandhi’s PA PP Madhavan by a worker there.
