On the other hand, T Raja Singh, BJP MLA from Telangana, narrowly escaped with the family.

Singh told that he had reached Amarnath in a helicopter with the family. Seeing the bad weather, he decided to move on from Pony. Outside the cave he saw a huge stream of water after the rain. Many tents were washed away with it in the strong current.

An army official said rescue dog squads including hand-held thermal imagers, night vision equipment, through-wall radars have also been pressed into service near the Amarnath cave. Despite the challenge of the weather, the rescue operation was continued throughout the night on Friday. Thermal imagers are proving to be helpful in locating the people buried under the rubble. However, the search for missing people among the huge rocks and boulders is extremely challenging.
