The CBI and Income Tax (IT) raids took place on Friday night at the Noida residence of former CGM DK Mittal of National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC). This action is going on for the last 16 hours. So far, more than one crore rupees in cash and jewelery of almost the same value have been found.

Convention center construction contract at Pragati Maidan was worth 2150 crores
In the year-2017, NBCC had awarded the contract for construction of Convention Center at IPTO Complex, Pragati Maidan, Delhi to Shapoorji Pallonji & Co Pvt Ltd and Shapoorji Pallonji Qatar WLL for Rs 2149.93 crore.
Mumbai-based Capasite Structures wanted to sub-contract this contract from Shapoorji Pallonji. For this, Sanjay Kulkarni, managing director of Capasite Company, contacted Rishabh Agarwal, a private person living in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad.
Rishabh Agarwal had good relations with Pradeep Mishra, an intelligence officer who was then on deputation to the Centre.
According to Income Tax, more than one crore cash has been found from the house of former CGM DK Mittal (NBCC).
The intelligence officer had organized a meeting of the contract company and NBCC
The middleman Rishabh entered NBCC through Pradeep Mishra and convinced Mumbai-based Capasite Company for the sub-contract. A meeting in this regard was held on 15 December 2022. Anoop Kumar Mittal, the then CMD of NBCC, made it clear that either Sanjay Kulkarni will get the entire work, or else no one will get it.
Most importantly, intelligence officer Pradeep Kumar Mishra had asked for a bullet motorcycle in return for a contract worth Rs 2150 crore. The CBI has also accepted the bullet bike in its FIR. Pradeep Mishra’s job was only to hold a meeting between the officers of NBCC and Capasite Company regarding this sub-contract. In this meeting, how the contract was agreed between the two, this issue was different.
Boxes were called from DK Mittal’s house to carry notes and jewellery. The Income Tax team has taken them after filling them.
Four accused have been arrested
On receiving the complaint on 22 December 2017, CBI New Delhi had registered a corruption case against the then CMD of NBCC Anoop Kumar Mittal, intelligence officer Pradeep Kumar Mishra. Apart from this, a case of corruption was also registered against Ghaziabad middleman Rishab Agarwal, MD of Capasite Company Mumbai Sanjay Kulkarni, private person Akashdeep. Four accused were also arrested in this case.
CBI went to investigate corruption, got cash and jewelery
Sources said, the name of former NBCC CGM DK Mittal also came up in the CBI investigation of this case. DK Mittal, who retired a few days ago, is currently living in Sector-19 of Noida. On this basis, a CBI team raided the residence of DK Mittal on Friday night. When CBI got huge amount of cash-jewelry from here. After that CBI informed Income Tax.
Only after this the team of Income Tax Department reached there and started its action. Sources said that during the raids, the CBI and Income Tax have also got information about some lockers of DK Mittal. These lockers can also be opened. At present, this action is going on in Noida since Friday night.
