Guru Dutt was a telephone operator before appearing in films

Guru Dutt’s financial condition was not good, due to which he could not study college. Before starting his career in films, he used to work as a telephone operator in Calcutta. He did not take his heart in this work and he left this job.

In the early days, there was friendship with Devanand

Guru Dutt worked in a film company in Pune. He had to sign a three-year contract for this job. While working here, Guru Dutt met Devanand and Rahman. This meeting soon turned into friendship.

Guru Dutt got his first break from the 1944 film Chand. He played the role of Shri Krishna in this film. This character was very small. Apart from acting in the initial days, the actor also worked in the industry as a choreographer and assistant director.

The film ‘Baji’, which came in the year 1951, was the first film directed by Guru Dutt. Dutt Sahab was the one who brought Johnny Walker and Waheeda Rehman into the industry.

Apart from making his career in films, Guru Dutt also fell in love, which he made his life partner. He met the famous singer Geeta Roy on the sets of the 1951 film ‘Baji’. This love at first sight had started climbing. The rounds of meeting between the two also went well. In 1953, both got married.

‘Saanjh Aur Savera’ was the last film of Guru Dutt’s career. On 10 October 1964, he said goodbye to the world. It is said that Guru Dutt had committed suicide, although even today the secret of his death remains.
