Memories, characters and tales related to Bollywood’s iconic film ‘Sholay’ are still repeated in the film world. Every scene, every dialogue, every single song of the film still resonates in the minds of the people in the same way as it used to do earlier. From the story of the film to the dialogues, every character of the film is still alive in the mind of the audience. One such character was that of Thakur, without whom the film seems incomplete. Actor Sanjeev Kumar, who gave life to this character, would have been 84 years old if he was alive. Born on July 9, 1938 in Surat, Sanjeev Kumar has been in the limelight because of his personal life more than films. Many stories of his life are famous among the people. But today, on the special occasion of his birthday, we are going to tell about such an interesting story related to his life, which will probably be difficult for Bollywood’s Heiman i.e. Dharmendra to hear it.
Sanjeev’s heart fell on Hema
Sanjeev Kumar, who gave life to films with his performance, used to live in Bollywood’s ‘Dream Girl’ i.e. Hema Malini at one time. Actually, Sanjeev Kumar was giving heart to Hema Malini at one time and wanted to marry her at any cost. The two stars first met in the year 1972 on the sets of the film Sita and Geeta. In the very first meeting itself, Sanjeev Kumar was losing heart on Hema.
Hema’s mother becomes villain
Sanjeev, who fell in love with Hema Malini in the very first meeting, wanted to marry her in any condition. He even went to Hema’s house to ask for her hand, but the actress’s parents turned down their offer. In many media reports, it is also said that Hema’s mother had refused her to marry Sanjeev Kumar. Hema Malini’s mother had told Sanjeev, ‘I will marry my daughter only to the boy of my community and I have also taken care of the boy.’ The most interesting thing about this story was that Hema also fell in love with Sanjeev at that time, but she did not go against her mother.
Sanjeev took this step
Where on one hand it is claimed in many media reports that in Sanjeev and Hema’s love story, their mother became the villain. At the same time, according to some media reports, Dharmendra proposed Hema Malini for marriage when Sanjeev Kumar was planning to propose Hema. For this reason Hema had rejected Sanjeev Kumar’s relationship. Sanjeev Kumar’s heart was broken in such a way that he never loved anyone again and he left this world alone.
Somebody used to love Sanjeev like crazy
Sanjeev Kumar, who became an overnight star in the 1970 film ‘Kylauna’, was madly in love with Hema just as actress Sulakshana Pandit was madly in love with her. But Sanjeev Kumar, who was deceived in love with Dream Girl, flatly refused to accept Sulakshana’s love. This decision of Sanjeev also played all the colors in Sulakshana’s life and she too had decided not to marry for the rest of her life. This well-known Bollywood star, who made love to many actresses in his films, had said goodbye to the world on 6 November 1985 at the age of 47 due to a heart attack.
