The motive behind the murder of chemist Umesh Kolhe in Amravati, Maharashtra was to spread panic in a section of the country. NIA has said this in its FIR. The National Investigation Agency suspects that the incident may have national as well as international connections.
The Amaravati incident took place about a week before the murder of Kanhaiyalal on similar lines in Udaipur, Rajasthan. NIA is probing both the murders. NIA says that a group of people conspired to kill Chemist Kolhe. His intention was to spread terror among a section of the people of the country. The attackers wanted to spread enmity among the people on the basis of religion.
