In 2019, a record was set with the arrival of more than 34 lakh pilgrims in the Chardham Yatra. After this, the Chardham Yatra was interrupted in the year 2020 and 2021 due to the Kovid epidemic. According to the report of the tourism department, so far the figure of registration of pilgrims for Chardham Yatra has reached 35.5 lakhs. In this, more than 26 lakh devotees have visited Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, Yamunotri Dham.
There was also a challenge before the government due to the arrival of a large number of pilgrims in the Chardham Yatra. The government made a lot of efforts to make the yatra go without any hindrance. The capacity of pilgrims in a day in Kedarnath Dham is about 15 thousand. Initially up to 25 thousand passengers reached. Chardham Yatra is making a new record this time.
