The National Executive meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party is to be held in Hyderabad on July 2-3. According to information received from BJP sources, all the top leaders associated with the party have been asked to camp in Telangana from two days ago. Apart from ministers, top office-bearers of the party organization, popular leaders and workers of different states will meet people in different assemblies. During this, he will make the public aware about the failures of the state government as well as the achievements of the central government.
Telangana important in South India campaign
Assembly elections are due in Telangana next year. The BJP is seeing special possibilities for itself in Telangana. The party’s reach in South India has so far been limited to Karnataka. In the last assembly elections, the ruling TRS had won 88 of the total 119 assembly seats. The BJP got success in only five seats.
But after the assembly elections, the situation in the state has changed rapidly. In the last Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party had won four seats here. The party also fared better in the local elections. At the same time, the ruling party is badly engulfed in allegations of corruption. Those close to the Chief Minister are accused of grabbing land and controlling the contracts of the state government. The BJP is exploring the possibilities for itself in these circumstances.
