Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated a three-day All India Shiksha Samagam on New Education Policy at Rudraksh Convention Center in Varanasi. Addressing the academicians from across the country present in the program, PM Modi said that the main premise of the National Education Policy is to take education out of narrow thinking and connect it with the ideas of the 21st century.
There has never been a dearth of intelligence in our country. But unfortunately we were given such a system, in which education was considered as a job. There was a slight change in the education policy after independence, but a huge change remained. The system created by the British was never and cannot be a part of the basic nature of India.
PM Modi said – I am the MP here, you are all my guests
Addressing the program organized under the joint aegis of the Ministry of Education, University Grants Commission (UGC) and Banaras Hindu University (BHU), PM Modi said that I am the MP of Varanasi, as I am the host and all of you are our guests. I welcome you. If anything is missed in the program, I apologize in advance.
He said that this Samagam is taking place today at a time when the country is celebrating the Amrit Mahotsav of its independence. The great responsibility of fulfilling the nectar resolutions of the country during the Amrit period rests on our education system and the younger generation. It is further said that Kashi is also called the city of salvation because knowledge is the only way of salvation in our country. Therefore, the churning of education and research, the churning of knowledge and understanding, when the main center of all knowledge will be in Kashi, then the nectar emanating from it will surely give a new direction to the country.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that creation of new systems, inclusion of modern systems is equally important for building a new India. which has never happened before. What the country had never imagined before, they are becoming a reality in today’s India. Today we are the third largest startup ecosystem in the world.
In areas like space technology, where earlier only the government used to do everything, now a new world is being created for the youth through private players. In the new education policy, the entire focus is on making them skilled according to the talent and choice of the children. Our youth should be skilled, confident, practical and calculative, education policy is preparing the ground for this.

PM Modi told the academicians that you all have to handle the present. You have to carry forward what you have done before. But the work that we are doing today, they have to think for the future only. Systems will also have to be developed for the future.
It is further said that on July 29, two years of the National Education Policy are going to be completed. This education policy has been made after long brainstorming. The National Education Policy should be welcomed in a country full of so many diversities, it is a big achievement in itself. We have kept this National Education Policy alive every moment. Further said that I myself have gone to at least 25 seminars in such a short time and have been speaking on this subject.
Kasturi Ranjan ji, who is heading the team making the National Education Policy, is also constantly communicating with the people on this subject after giving this report. In these two years, the country has taken several concrete steps towards implementing the National Education Policy. During this, workshops on important topics like quality and future readiness have also helped a lot.
For the new National Education Policy, work has also been done on a large infrastructure in the education sector of the country. Today a large number of new colleges are opening in the country, new universities are opening, new IITs and IIMs are being established. The National Education Policy is now opening the way for studies in the mother tongue.
In this sequence, ancient Indian languages like Sanskrit are also being taken forward. Today the whole world is moving towards solar power. India is fortunate that it has a scorching sun. How do we use the power of that scorching sun? How do we make his power a part of our life system?
More than 400 academicians from different universities, IITs, IIMs and other places of the country will brainstorm in the three-day All India Shiksha Samagam. The road map of the new education policy will be prepared. After the implementation of the policy made in 2020, what kind of difficulties, reforms in educational institutions will be discussed in detail by the educationists in the presence of the Education Minister.
Also will share suggestions. After discussing the proposals that have been made regarding the Samagam, its draft will be sent to all the educational institutions. With the implementation of the New Education Policy 2020, while the ranking of universities will improve, it will also be successful in getting recognition at the international level.
