These days, the stories of ‘Hindi Heartland’ are in high demand among OTT and cinema makers of entertainment content and the problem is that the new filmmakers settled in Andheri, Juhu, Santacruz and Bandra of Mumbai are not aware that this ‘Heartland’ is any. Not the place but the heart of the common man. This is the same common man who still cries for relationships. Away from father and troubled for children. At the behest of his wife, he is ready to confront the family members and looks suspiciously at the young man who comes to teach the daughter of the house. When this common man watches cinema openly, it rains money at the box office. And, to understand all this, there is a need to re-watch those films of Hindi cinema which are called superhit films of their time. One such Hindi film is ‘Bawarchi’, made as a remake of the Bengali film ‘Golpo Holeo Shotiya’. The film hit the big screen for the first time on 7 July 1972.
