Chennai: Ola Driver Killed Software Engineer In Dispute Over Otp, Brutally Thrashed In Front Of Family And Children

Ola cab driver thrashed software engineer H Umender (34) in front of his family and children over OTP dispute. The incident that happened on Sunday is being told of Old Mahabalipuram Road in Chennai. Umender, who is working in Coimbatore, had come home on weekends.

He had planned to watch the film in multiplexes with wife Bhavya. Two children, sister and her two children were also taken along. While returning, cab driver N Ravi (41), a resident of Salem, reached to pick him up, when Umender’s family sat in the car before telling the OTP. Ravi was furious at this.

When the matter escalated, he hit Umender on his head with a mobile phone. After that he hit several punches. Umender fell on the ground. Later the doctors declared him brought dead at the hospital. Police have arrested Ravi and registered a case on other charges including murder.

Complaints often come, 15 lakh drivers, 100 crore rides
Ola claims that it is offering over 100 crore rides annually in over 250 cities. 15 lakh drivers and car owners are working for him. Many a times users complain about poor behavior of drivers on social media.
