In the monsoon session of Parliament starting from July 18, the ground has been prepared for the confrontation between the government and the opposition on the Nupur Sharma episode. According to sources, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has asked questions regarding Nupur’s remarks regarding her non-arrest despite the Supreme Court’s observations.

The ruling party MPs have asked the question in the context of the killing of one person each in Rajasthan and Maharashtra after posts made on social media in support of this remark. Till Monday, about 950 questions have been raised by the MPs in the Lok Sabha.

There are 135 questions related to the Ministry of Home Affairs. In the questions related to this ministry, information has been sought about the reasons for not forming the committee even after months of the government’s announcement on other issues including conversion and minimum support price.
