Free Coaching for NEET UG JEE MainsEngineering and medical entrance examinations are considered among the toughest examinations in the country. Every year lakhs of students pay lakhs of rupees to big coaching houses and online platforms for NEET UG and JEE Main. Therefore, it is not easy for the students of normal family to prepare for them whereas the students of tribal category cannot even think about it. In such a situation, the government has started a very ambitious initiative.

Free coaching for the first time for meritorious tribal students

Under the initiative of the government, free coaching will be provided for NEET UG exam for admission to graduate level medical courses and JEE Main exam for admission to engineering courses. Officials said the J&K Tribal Affairs Department has launched a first of its kind initiative to provide free coaching to meritorious tribal students preparing for NEET and JEE entrance exams.

Scholarship will also be given if students get admission

He said the course is sponsored by the department and the scholarship will also be provided to the candidates who qualify for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) after coaching. Tribal Affairs Department Secretary Shahid Iqbal Choudhary said that 100 tribal students are being selected for NEET coaching in government empaneled coaching institutes under two different sub-schemes.

Coaching will be provided from reputed institutes

Under the scheme being implemented through the education wing of Tribal Research Institute, there are two sub-schemes ‘Host-50’ for hostel in the first year and ‘Top-50’ for other tribal meritorious students. Choudhary said that after verification of attendance and evaluation, the coaching fee for NEET UG and JEE Main in selected reputed institutes will be sponsored by the department.
