When Rishi Kapoor Said He Wanted To See Ranbir Kapoor’s Kids ‘before I Am Gone’

Rishi Kapoor On Ranbir’s Children: Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are soon going to be parents and are going to welcome a little guest to their house. Ranbir’s father Rishi Kapoor had expressed his wish before his death that he wanted to see his grandchildren. However, this wish of his is being fulfilled after his departure. Rishi Kapoor passed away in the year 2020.

During an interview given before his death, Rishi had said that his last wish is to ‘spend time’ with Ranbir’s children. Ranbir and Alia tied the knot earlier this year in April. Rishi was diagnosed with leukemia in 2018 and went to New York City for treatment. Rishi died in April 2020 at the age of 68 after a two-year battle with the disease.

In an interview with Mid-Day in 2018, Rishi said, “It is high time that they should get married. I had settled at the age of 27 and Ranbir is 35 years old now. So he had to get married. We should think about it. He can marry anyone of his choice, we don’t mind. I want to spend time with my grandchildren before I leave.”

Alia announced via Instagram

On Monday, Alia announced her pregnancy by sharing a picture of herself and Ranbir from her sonography session. While sharing the photo, Alia wrote, ‘Our baby… is coming soon. In the photo, happy Alia is seen looking at the sonography monitor. Alia and Ranbir were dating each other for five years before tying the knot on April 14 this year.

Alia and Ranbir will soon be seen together onscreen for the first time in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra. The film is scheduled to release on September 9, 2022. It also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna Akkineni.
