Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has received a setback from the Jharkhand High Court on the statement that all Modi is a thief. The High Court, while dismissing the petition of Rahul Gandhi, has directed him to speak in the Civil Court of Ranchi. The court of Justice SK Dwivedi said that the points which he is raising in the High Court should be raised in the Civil Court. Earlier, the High Court had directed not to take action against Rahul Gandhi.
Advocate Pradeep Modi has filed a complaint against Rahul Gandhi in Ranchi Civil Court. It has been alleged that during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, while addressing an election meeting in Ranchi, Rahul Gandhi had said that all those whose names have Modi in front of them are thieves. This has hurt the Modi society and their honor has been hurt. There was a demand from the court to take legal action against Rahul.

Rahul Gandhi had made controversial remarks during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Ranchi and some other rallies. He had reportedly said, “Nirav Modi, Lalit Modi, Narendra Modi… how do they all have the same surname Modi?” How do all thieves have the same surname Modi?’ Rahul Gandhi was the Congress President when he made this remark. Cases were also registered against Rahul Gandhi in other states. He had appeared in a Surat magistrate court over the same statement last year and refused to apologise, saying he was being sarcastic. Also said that now he does not remember much about this speech.
