Karan Malhotra Share’s His Experience with Ranbir And Rishi: Karan Malhotra has the experience of directing both Rishi Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor in different films. He worked with the late Rishi Kapoor in ‘Agnipath’, while he directed Ranbir in ‘Shamshera’. Speaking to ETimes, he revealed both the differences and similarities between father and son.
Karan said, “I think their acting culture is very similar. But they have totally different personalities on the sets. It’s like North Pole and South Pole. Chintu uncle was a very flamboyant, open and confrontational person. Quite the opposite. Ranbir enjoys his fun quietly. He is happy with himself and calm too.”

Recalling the experience of working with Rishi Kapoor, Karan said, “I had a lot of fights and arguments with Chintu uncle during the shooting of Agneepath. And I would not like to forget that whole experience with him for a moment. Because I cherish it a lot. I really miss that aspect. He always used to challenge me and strengthen my faith. With him, it was like arguing and fighting with your parents. That abuse We used to give, push and die and say pagal ho gaya hai tu (You have gone mad). We used to fight with each other often.”

After pointing out the differences, Karan also spoke about the similarities between the two talented actors. He said, “The similarity between Ranbir and Chintu uncle is that they both surrender to the vision of the film and the filmmaker. They will not try to spoil it. That is their biggest quality.” He further added that both Rishi and Ranbir gave him what he wanted from them, adding, “At times he gave me more than I expected. He never worked for himself. There could have been so much drama on the sets, Because both were such big stars. But they were professionals and they worked for the film.”
