Earlier, the advocates of the Masajid Committee had argued that the Special Places of Worship Bill 1991 would be applicable here, in which the status of religious places at the time of independence would remain the same. Whereas the Hindu side argues that the Kannu, a special religious place of worship here, will not apply, because even after independence, Shringar Gauri was worshipped here.
