No birth history information
The people of the village tell that since when this tree is in the village, even our father and Baba are not aware of it. We have been looking at the tree like this ever since we were born. The special thing is that every year when the crop comes, even if only four or five fruits come in this tree, but they do come.
Former head husband Manoj Yadav told that once during the construction of the garbage plant, this tree was coming under its grip, but the villagers struggled to save it. After this it was preserved by asking the public representatives. This tree has also got heritage status.
DM worshiped the historical tree
Lucknow District Magistrate Suryapal Gangwar reached Dussehri village on Sunday and duly worshiped this 300-year-old tree and gave the message of environmental protection. He told that this three century old tree is the parent of Dussehri mango variety. The origin of Dussehri is believed to be from this.
He told that Malihabad is known only for mangoes. There are two lakh 70 thousand hectares of Dussehri mango orchards, in which 60 percent area of Kalmi Dussehri is there. He also informed that Mango Festival is going to start in the capital. In this, schemes for setting up mango related food processing units will be promoted. A facilitation center is being built in Aliganj for the common farmers, which will be very beneficial for those doing business of trading and export.
