But Salvi got only 107 votes due to which he had to face defeat.

These are the five MLAs who did not vote
The five NCP MLAs who did not participate in the polls on Sunday were Dattatreya Bharane, Baban Shinde, Nilesh Lanke, Dilip Mohite and Anna Bansode. Also, senior NCP MLAs Anil Deshmukh and Nawab Malik, who are currently in jail on money laundering charges, did not vote. NCP leaders said Bharane had lost his mother Girijabai on July 1. Mohite and Bansode were not allowed to participate in the voting process as they reached Vidhan Bhavan late. Lanke could not be contacted.

Some NCP MLAs already wanted to join BJP: Media reports
Most of these MLAs, who are absent during the voting process, are considered close to senior NCP leader and former deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar. According to some media reports, a section of the NCP also wanted to re-join the BJP before Eknath Shinde joined hands with the BJP.
