Most of the works of the target of 100 days given by the Chief Minister to the city development have been completed before the stipulated time limit. Out of the 24 works assigned to the department, 22 works have been completed, while the work of doubling the number of electric buses in 14 cities and preparing a mobile app for city bus service is yet to be completed. However, the department says that more than 70 percent of the remaining two works have been completed.

Most of the targets set for primary, secondary to higher, vocational and technical education have been fulfilled, while some are nearing completion. After the summer vacation, due to the opening of educational institutions from July, the remaining work has started gaining momentum. At the same time, the organization of employment, apprenticeship and placement fairs has exceeded the target.

In the current session 2022-23, the target was to enroll two crore children in council schools. Against this, 1.88 crore children have been enrolled. Enrollment work is going on with the opening of the school after the summer vacation. The second goal was to get 100% Aadhaar enrollment of all enrolled students. Under this, Aadhaar registration of 1.66 crore children has been done.

The work of creating website, e-mail id of all the students in secondary schools and introduction of biometric attendance in government schools has almost been completed. E-mail ID and website are also almost ready. The functionality of all these is being tested. The process of construction of 41 high schools, 18 inter colleges has started.

In the field of higher education, the process of recruitment, promotion is going on fast. New colleges have also been set up. The work related to starting of online portal, private universities is still going on. Process is also underway to start e-learning parks and incubators.

Officials are claiming to have accomplished all of the proposed goals. Under the launch of Vishwakarma Technological Upgradation Programme, Smart DAS Board has been established and inaugurated. Placement cell has been established and placement day is being organized on 21st of every month. 8 thousand youth have been given employment. Under the Chief Minister’s Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme, the target was to get 10 thousand youths to be apprenticeship, whereas by June 30, more than 10 thousand youths have been linked to it.

The department has been successful to a large extent on the government hospitals front, but the shortage of medicines and doctors remains a major challenge. Keeping this in view, a target has been set to fill the vacant posts of doctors in the next six months. Doctors have been instructed to prescribe generic medicines but not all medicines are available at Jan Aushadhi Kendras.

The process of admission to nursing colleges through NEET has been started. The construction of 14 medical colleges is in the final stages. Out of the 16 medical colleges running on PPP model, two have been fixed. 600 MBBS seats have been increased in medical colleges. 725 seats for PG, 2400 for Nursing and 600 for Paramedical have been increased.

The affiliation of Ayurvedic, Unani and Homeopathy colleges has been started with Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath Ayush University established in Gorakhpur. The target of contract farming of medicines to the farmers was also targeted. Its action plan has been sent to the Centre.
