The fifth test is being played between India and England at Edgbaston. On the third day of the match, on Sunday (July 3), the England team came out to bat. Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow gave the team a good start on the third day. His luck also supported Stokes. He missed two catches in the span of 10 balls, but soon his luck ran out. Jasprit Bumrah took a brilliant catch and sent him to the pavilion.
Actually, Bairstow and Stokes started the counter attack after facing trouble in the first few overs on the third day. Bairstow hit a half-century off 81 balls. He scored just 16 runs in the first 64 balls. The next 34 runs Bairstow scored just 17 balls and completed his half-century. Seeing him, Stokes was also trying to score runs fast.
Mohammed Shami came to bowl in the 36th over. Stokes was unbeaten on 18 off 26 balls. He wanted to hit a six on the very first ball of Shami, but the ball went up in the air. It seemed that the English captain would now have to return to the pavilion, but Shardul dropped an easy catch. After that Shardul was bowling in the 38th over. On the fourth ball, Jasprit Bumrah dropped a simple catch of Stokes in mid-off.

Stokes had missed two catches. It seemed that luck was not with Team India. The English captain scored 25 runs off 35 balls. Stokes again played a shot towards mid off on the fifth ball of Shardul’s over. This time Bumrah became Superman. He took a brilliant catch in the air by diving to the left. Shardul had dropped Stokes’ first catch and he also took a wicket. In this way the Indian bowler completed his revenge.
Stokes could play only 10 balls from the first catch till he was dismissed. In this his luck went from good to bad. India got a big success. Team India scored 416 runs in the first innings. England scored 200 for six in their first innings till lunch on the third day. They are 216 runs behind India.
