About a week before a tailor was slit in Udaipur, Rajasthan, chemist Umesh Kolhe was similarly murdered in Maharashtra’s Amravati. Umesh Prahladrao Kolhe (54) was murdered on June 21 by slitting his throat in Amravati. At that time he was on his way home from his shop, when the assailants who came on the bike in the middle of the way slit his throat. The attackers also made a video of it and made it viral. The incident took place at Shyam Chowk near Ghantaghar of Amravati.
MP Rana alleged that Amravati Police Commissioner Dr. Aarti Singh tried to suppress the matter. Rana said that we wrote a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and he ordered to hand over the investigation of this case to the NIA.

12 days after the murder of chemist Kolhe, the police commissioner of Amravati admitted before the media that this case is also like the Udaipur massacre. Seven arrested so far
Amravati police on Saturday said the chemist’s murder is related to a social media post. Police said that the mastermind of the murder has also been arrested. So far seven people have been arrested in the case. Irfan Khan (32) of Amravati was arrested from Nagpur on Saturday. Khan had allegedly hatched a conspiracy to kill Kolhe and had involved others as well. The Home Ministry on Saturday handed over the investigation of the murder of the chemist to the NIA like the Udaipur murder.
