The broad daylight murder of a tailor who posted in support of Nupur Sharma in Rajasthan’s Udaipur has shocked the entire nation. However, this is not the first case of the murder of a supporter of Nupur Sharma. At least according to what has been revealed in the investigation of Amravati Police of Maharashtra, on June 21, a drug dealer was also murdered by slitting his throat in a similar manner. The reason was – a post made on his behalf in support of Nupur Sharma.
Investigators believe that the murder, as part of a conspiracy by chemist Umesh Prahladrao Kolhe, 54, in Amravati district, happened because of support for Nupur Sharma’s controversial statements on the prophet. Based on a complaint lodged by Umesh’s son Sanket Kohle, the Kotwali police arrested two people – Mudassir Ahmed (22) and Shahrukh Pathan (25) on June 23 in the case. After interrogation of both, it came to light that four more people were involved in Umesh’s murder. These included Abdul Taufik (24), Shoaib Khan (22), Atib Rashid (22) and Shamim Firoz Ahmed. Barring Shamim, everyone else was arrested.
