To cash in on the fame of late Indian singer and lyricist Sidhu Musewala for his song ‘295’, his photo is also being used in posters put up in Punjab province for the by-elections to be held in Pakistan.
According to News International newspaper, by-elections are to be held on 217 seats located in Multan region of Pakistani Punjab. Sidhu Musewala’s photo with Zain Qureshi has been used on the poster of former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
He is the son of former Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi. Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu (28), popularly known as Sidhu Musewala, was shot dead on 29 May in the Punjab province of India. His security was withdrawn by the Punjab government a day earlier. There is also a photo of 295 of Sidhu Musewala on the poster. This song of his is related to Indian Penal Code. The by-election is to be held on July 17.
