Police have arrested five accused in connection with the gang rape of a mother and her six-year-old daughter in Roorkee. The car used in the incident has also been recovered from the accused.
Disclosing the incident in Civil Lines Kotwali Roorkee on Thursday, SSP Dr Yogendra Singh Rawat told a press conference that on June 24, information was given by a woman in Kotwali. In which it was told by him that he and his six-year-old daughter were gang-raped by the people in the car.
Considering the seriousness of the incident, four teams were formed after registering a case in the matter. The accused were identified with the help of CCTV footage and other means. As a result, five names emerged. The police team raided to nab the accused.

The five accused were arrested. The Alto car used in the incident has also been recovered. SSP said that Mehak Singh alias Sonu resident of Imlikheda, Rajiv alias Vicky Tomar resident of Belda police station Bhopa Muzaffarnagar Uttar Pradesh, Tejian resident of Shahpur police station Deoband district Saharanpur, Jagdish resident of Shahpur police station Deoband district Saharanpur are involved in the incident. The occupants of the car had committed the crime while intoxicated.
