The bilateral grouping of governors and top officials of US states has emphasized strong bilateral ties with India. The group has emphasized on investments coming from the Indian corporate world. The group says that this will not only lead to foreign direct investment but also new skills and jobs will be created in the US.

Several officials, including the governors of Pennsylvania, Arkansas and California, spoke before a group of over 100 Indian industrialists who came to Washington to attend the annual Select USA Investment Summit.

In an event organized by India’s Ambassador to the US Taranjit Singh Sandhu at India House, these officials said that Indian businessmen contribute to the economy of their states, they bring in new skills and most importantly create lucrative jobs. Republican Governor of Pennsylvania Tom Wolfe said that he is proud that he has maintained friendship with India, which he appreciates.

Democratic Party Governor Asa Hutchinson from Arkansas said that Indo-US relations have bilateral support. Welcoming the governors and other top officials, Sandhu said that Indian companies bring strength, combativeness and a sense of competitiveness to America. These companies have created jobs for local communities, he said.
