Maharashtra State Cabinet Approves The Renaming Of Aurangabad To Sambhaji Nagar And Osmanabad To Dharashiv

Amidst the political crisis in Maharashtra, the state cabinet took an important decision today. The Uddhav cabinet has approved renaming of Aurangabad to Sambhaji Nagar and Osmanabad to Dharashiv. Similarly, the proposal to change the name of Navi Mumbai Airport to DB Patil International Airport has also been approved.

Minister of State Anil Parab had also given a statement regarding this yesterday. He had said that the name of Aurangabad should be changed to Sambhaji Nagar. According to media reports, Congress and NCP are unhappy with this decision taken in the cabinet today. This important decision of the Udvav cabinet has come at a time when the Maharashtra government is under a cloud of political crisis. About 40 MLAs from Shiv Sena have left with Eknath Shinde. The Governor has given instructions for the floor test in the assembly on June 30 and the same is being heard in the Supreme Court as well.
