Sanitary pads were distributed to about one thousand girl students of the college by NSS Unit and Red Cross Society in collaboration with Rotary Club, Faridabad.

Sanitary pads were distributed to about one thousand girl students of the college by NSS unit of Government Women’s College Sector 16-A and Red Cross Society in collaboration with Rotary Club, Faridabad and made them aware of hygiene.

Acting Principal of the college Ritika Gupta said that it is very important for women to be aware of their health. According to a recent research, if the situation remains like this, then by 2025 every fifth woman will be suffering from cancer, the reason for most of the diseases in women is food and hygiene. In such a situation, if we want to save half of our population from serious diseases like this, then they have to be made aware. Rotary Club President Vipin Manchanda appealed to the girl students to make the women around them aware of using sanitary pads, NSS Incharge Dr. Rachna Saini and Red Cross Society Incharge Minal Sabarwal said that now girl students or women need not be shy in buying sanitary pads from medical stores or any shops. Women have to remain bindas. It is one of the primary needs of women. On this occasion Dr. Varsha Sharma, Poonam Sharma, Neha, Priya, Chanchal Sharma and other members were present.

Benefits of sanitary pads

Dr. Rashmi Batra, Deputy CMO of BK Hospital, says that women using dirty clothes during menstruation are more prone to develop serious diseases. Due to not washing the clothes used in menstruation properly and drying it under cover, many germs come in it, which cause serious illness. Sanitary pads have antibacterial properties and some pads are one-time use, which reduces the risk of illness.
