State Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has become active amid the political turmoil in Maharashtra. He has sought information from the Uddhav Thackeray government about the files of the last few days, in which development proposals worth crores have been approved. The Governor has taken this step, taking cognizance of the letter of Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Pravin Darekar. Here, a meeting of Uddhav Thackeray’s cabinet is also to be held today.
Principal Secretary to the Governor, Santosh Kumar has written a letter to Maharashtra Chief Secretary Manu Kumar Srivastava to inform about the decisions being taken by the Uddhav government, mandates and circulars being issued. He has been asked to send detailed information about the resolutions passed on June 22, 23 and 24 to the Raj Bhavan. The Chief Secretary has ordered his subordinates to collect the information sought. In these three days, about two hundred mandates have been issued with the approval of crores of rupees in the departments related to the ministers of NCP and Congress.
First the recognition of a separate faction, then the fight for rights over the party
The rebel Shiv Sena MLAs plan to first seek recognition as a separate faction in the Assembly. Shiv Sena is said to have 40 out of 55 MLAs in the rebel faction. Since this number is more than two-thirds, the rebel faction’s claim for recognition of a separate faction is strong. The matter of claim on the party is very complicated. There is a long process for this in the Election Commission, so the rebel MLAs are currently proceeding with the strategy of getting the recognition of a separate faction.
Raut threatened… traitors should not go out on the road
Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut has once again threatened the rebel MLAs. At a rally in Alibaug, he said, traitors should not come out on the road. He said, the rebel MLAs supporting Eknath Shinde are saying that they have taken this step to protect the Hindutva of Balasaheb Thackeray. Out of these rebels, 22 have come from NCP.
Thackeray cabinet meeting will be held again today
Uddhav Thackeray chaired the cabinet meeting on Tuesday after Shinde and other rebel ministers were snatched away from the portfolios. After the meeting, Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil told reporters that no political issue was discussed in the cabinet. At the same time, Shiv Sena leader and minister Subhash Desai said that the cabinet meeting will be held again on June 29. He claimed that everything is normal in the government.
