Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented a marble mosaic table top to Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi at the G-7 meeting. It is made in Tajnagri. With this gift of the Prime Minister, the 500-year-old art of the Mughal era increased the glory, and marble mosaic has got respect. It was prepared in six months by Stoneman Craft of Gokulpura by mosaicing it with 12 precious stones on a base of black marble. A team of five handicraftsmen shaped the 36 inch diameter table top by grinding more than 700 stones. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath shared this moment of pride for the handicrafts of Agra by tweeting, then the handicraftsmen were delighted.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath tweeted on Tuesday and wrote that the Prime Minister has given globalism to the rich workmanship of Uttar Pradesh by presenting the Agra-made ‘Marble Inlay Table Top’ gift to the Prime Minister of Italy during his stay in Germany for the G-7 Summit.

The Prime Minister came to the Lucknow exhibition

In the ground breaking ceremony held in Lucknow on June 2 and 3, Prime Minister Narendra Modi saw an exhibition of handicrafts, in which this table top was displayed by Stoneman Craft from Tajnagri. The Prime Minister had informed about this by stopping at the stall. He paid special attention to its Italian art theme. On June 10, this work was ordered from the Chief Minister’s Office by calling Stoneman Craft.

The designer of the table top presented to the PM, Himanka Setia told that the art of Mughalia and Italy is seen in its designing. Mughalia lattice work, curves, while birds used in Italian art form part of this design. Brazilian, Italian and Indian stones were used for the colors of the birds. Some part of the mosaic of the Taj will also be visible in it.

The Prime Minister is a global leader, with this visit to the Prime Minister of Italy, our traditional art will again become a topic of discussion in the world.
