Seema has also secured the second position in the worldwide prestigious 42 km long marathon to be held in Boston city of America.
Two players from Faridabad have brought laurels to the city and the state by winning four gold medals in the first Open Masters athletic competition organized by the Athletic Federation of India in Vadodara, Gujarat from June 16 to 19. Athlete Dharmendra, a resident of Khedi Kalan, who returned after participating in the competition, said that he participated in the 1500 meters and five kilometer competitions held in Vadodara and won gold medals in both. Dharmendra has earlier achieved first and second position in many marathons. He told that he has come first and second in his age group in 42 km long marathons of Mumbai, Vadodara, Airtel Delhi and Adani. Similarly, Dr. Seema Yadav, resident of Sector 17, also managed to win gold medals in 1500 meters and five kilometer women’s category of the same competition. Seema told that she has been winning marathons like Tata Mumbai, Airtel Delhi etc for years. She started running at the age of 38 and today at the age of 43 she is running and winning medals. Seema has also secured the second position in the prestigious 42 km long marathon held in Boston city of America across the world. Athletes from 29 states across the country participated in this competition.
